Sorry folks – it’s time to put away the blender and the iced tea pitcher. We need to accept the fact that summer season is soon coming to an end. But the mourning period only needs to be brief. In fact, it can be packed full of flavour, colour, and spice. In the first of an ongoing series, Bring a Bottle brings you some amazing autumn cocktail suggestions to make the darker evenings not just more bearable, but deliciously enjoyable.
4 ounces jalapeño-infused silver tequila
3 ounces fresh-squeezed blood orange juice
1 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
3 ounces Cointreau (I scaled it back to 2 ounces)
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a cocktail glass. Optional garnish: salt the rim of the glass.
To serve as a pitcher drink: Multiply the ingredients by the number of guests. Combine in a pitcher and chill until ready to serve. Pour over ice or shake cocktails individually. Enjoy the cold and warm up. Have a great weekend!
