Booze News

This week we take a look at who has been tasting what, and source out the best booze opinions and reviews on the web so that you don’t have to.

1. The guys over at Cask Strength have pointed us in the direction of the world’s first 3D bottle packaging. The project, by Cask Strength Creative, is documented in a short film, which you can find on the 3D Whiskey page. You can also download the world’s first 3D Whiskey sleeve for free. Who needs beer goggles when you can enjoy whiskey with 3D glasses?

2. Check out the review of Perry’s Puffin cider over at the Cider Pages. They rate it at 80/100, and say that it is “medium dry, but very mellow and full bodied”. These fruity cidery notes sound perfect for summer.

3. Wine enthusiasts at Thirst for Wine headed over to the Scottish restaurant Boisdale in Canary Wharf for a wine tasting session with wine and music enthusiasts Joao Roquette, CEO of Esporao winery in Portugal and Head Winemaker, David Baverstock from Australia. They talk wine and music, and how the two together can be an important combination. You can read the full story of their evening here.

4. Scotch fanatic Jason Debly recently reviewed Glenmorangie “The Original” Ten year old scotch, which he describes as having undertones of “buttercups and red grapefruits”. Head to his blog to read the review, and watch the video of his tasting to see how it’s really done.

Have a good week everybody!
