Sipsmith, one of the UK’s favourite gins, has had bought by Beam Suntory in a bid to increase its global exports.

Approximately 60% of the gins the company make are sold to the UK market and so the takeover is being viewed as a huge opportunity to grow the London-based distillers.

Co-founder of Sipsmith, Sam Galsworthy, said ‘We have found the perfect partners to take Sipsmith to all four corners of the globe, and do so whilst retaining our quality gin, astonishing team and Chiswick distillery in London.’

Beer on Tap with a ‘Tap’

Contactless payment technology has improved travel, it’s made it quicker to buy small purchased – and finally, it is here to reinvent the bar queue!

A new prototype called ‘Pay @ Pump’ has been developed by Barclaycard in the wake of research that suggests queuing is one of our biggest bug bears when in bars or pubs.

The whole process takes around 60 seconds and works by tapping a bank card onto a reader, initiating the automatic pour of the beer. Let’s hope there aren’t mega queues to use the pump!
