The Wines of Westeros are the latest in the merchandise of global hit TV series Game of Thrones.
The series of reds and whites, linked to the show’s fictional feuding clans were created as a side project for Sydney-based advertising agency Common Ventures. The bottles boast elegant designs, which symbolise the most prominent dynasties in the fantasy series.
These are not collectable items that should be forever kept in the packaging, the creators have spent a lot of time thinking about the different flavours and what they represent, and should be enjoyed in either a goblet or a wine glass.
The red wines are associated with the strong and robust houses of the series, while the whites are to represent the more cunning characters. The whites for Arryn, Greyjoy, White Walker, Wilding and Stark clans are all Sauvignon Blancs. the Baratheon and Lannister clan bottles are Pinot Noirs, the Dothraki is a Merlot, the Tyrells are represented as a Chardonnay, the Martells as a Cabernet Sauvignon, and both House Targaryen and the Night’s Watch are Shiraz wines.
The collection will be available for pre order soon at around £11 a bottle, and are expected to be released alongside the new series, which airs on HBO.
