David Beckham’s whisky goes on sale in Selfridge’s

After Beckham and Diageo announced the launch of their Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky in April, it has been revealed that stock will hit the shelves from now until the end of the month.

The project was lunched by Beckham and Simon Fuller, and will be sold exclusively in London’s Selfridge’s Oxford Street store. Following its release in it will be available at The Whisky Shop in Piccadilly, and will then be available in selected stores across the country.

The bottle design takes it cues from the fragrance industry, and its recommended retail price of the 40% abv spirit has been set at £45 for a 70cl bottle. The House of Haig is Scotland’s oldest gin distillery, and has been making the spirit since the beginning of the 17th century.

The product is made through a process which combines grain whiskey from three different cask types. Diageo hopes that their new collaboration with Beckham will bring new consumers to the whisky industry.

Alongside his involvement with the new product, the former England captain will be launching a responsible drinking campaign for Haig Club.
