By Amber Rolt on 25/06/14 10:00 AM

It’s that time of year again, and while the recent world cup results might not have been enough to keep your spirits high, that’s all about to change as the Wimbledon championships return for another year. Whether you are planning on heading to the tournament yourself, or if you’re planning on enjoying it from your own home, we have planned the best drinking hot spots for you.

Going out

Rose & Crown

Everyone heads to the Rose & Crown in Wimbledon village after they have been to the tennis and it’s a favourite for the ball boys and court attendants too. It is the place to be and be seen during Wimbledon fortnight. Even for those that didn’t manage to get tickets and couldn’t face the queues can come and enjoy the atmosphere in the garden marquee, where the best of the tennis will be shown on projectors. You might even spot a tennis player or two enjoying some off court time. Friday and Saturday nights this week are not to be missed, with resident DJ Duncan who will be playing music from 8-1am for the weekend in a special tennis celebration. This is the place to soak up some serious tennis vibes.

 The Alexandra

The Alex on Wimbledon Hill Road is the perfect meeting point to squeeze in a quick pint before heading to the tennis. The roof terrace is the place to be, and with stunning views of Wimbledon Hill, you can imagine that you are at the tennis even if you didn’t manage to get tickets. There will be live music and special events throughout Wimbledon fortnight, so keep an eye out.

Staying in

Pimm’s is the official fuel of Wimbledon, and English summer wouldn’t be the same without a serving of Pimm’s and lemonade on the side. Check out our deals and head to the supermarket to stock up on some strawberries and cream and you’ll have everything you need to enjoy the tennis wherever you are.
