Halloween is a fantastic time of year to throw a party and get creative with your cocktails – but it’s not all about flavour! October 31st is an opportunity to create some visually vile masterpieces and no better time of year to invent some shots that are tricks as well as treats.
Here, we round up our three favourite Halloween shot recipes to inspire you to create your own!
1 Walker Blood Sangria
We love this idea from Cravings of a Lunatic for Walker Blood Sangria (inspired by TV Show The Walking Dead)
It’s so straight forward and just calls for 1/4 Cointreau, 2 cups pomegranate juice, 1 bottle of red wine – chill for 4 hours and then add 2 cups of sparkling water – how simple!
2 Zombie Brain Shots
Celebration Generation has created a twist on an old classic in their Zombie Brain Haemorrhage shot.
This one is quite easy too and looks impressively disgusting.
Pour the Peach Schnapps into a shot glass, about 1/2 full. Pour a splash of Creme de Menthe in next – it’ll sink to the bottom and then finally the Baileys to form a layer on top and a trickle of Grenadine.
3 Vampire’s Kiss Shots
Baileys are undoubtedly a crucial component in the Halloween shot arena, but this chocolate and raspberry alternative is as tasty as it is beautifully baroque.
Mash raspberries, sugar and vodka in the bottom of the glass, top with Baileys and pour chocolate syrup round the rip. Blood curdling delicious
