Margaritas are a deliciously simple cocktail that’s impressive, strong and bound to get any party started. The 1930s cocktail only contains three basic ingredients – triple sec, tequila and the juice of a lemon or lime. Of course, there are some additional ingredients that you can use to put your own little ‘twist’ on it, as well as the increasingly popular modern take – frozen margaritas. And last, but by no means least, the tell-tale sign of any Margarita – salt around the rim!
Here are some of our favourite recipes for you get the party started with some concoctions of your own!
For a twist on the simple triple sec version, try and orange liqueur such as Cointreau, just like this recipe from Don Julio Blanco tequila:
INGREDIENTS
50 ml Don Julio Blanco tequila
35 ml Orange Liqueur
25 ml Lime juice
METHOD
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
Add Don Julio Blanco, orange liqueur and lime juice
Shake until cold and strain
