If English Wine Week wasn’t enough to keep you busy, then watch out for London Wine Week which arrives in town today from June 2-8.
Organised by the same team who bring us London Cocktail Week, the event will spread across more than 100 restaurants and bars in town.
London Wine Week is a celebration of the capital’s emerging wine scene, and writstbands can be purchased for £10 on the official website. This gains you access to exclusive wines by the glass and tasting events, as well as invitations to local wine merchants who will be hosting events and special discounts all week.
Kicking off the action this evening is an exclusive event at Harvey Nichols, ‘A Grape Night In’, which will be an interactive evening of tasting and quizzes. There will also be a “Chapas” crawl of the best tapas bars in town, with wine and sherry tasting in all venues.
Hedonism Wines in Mayfair will be hosting a tasting session, the WEST (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) are opening their doors for a two hour crash course in wine menus. The Three Wine Men (Tim Atkin, Oz Clarke and Olly Smith) will be leading tastings at The Oval cricket ground.
The full array of events and listing is available at the official website, where you can also buy wristbands and reserve your spot at exclusive events. Some are specially tailored to fit into your lunch break, with others spanning into the evening.
Bottoms up, it’s going to be a busy week.
