Start your New Year’s Eve celebrations off with a bang by making this flaming cocktail to imitate the fireworks in the sky. Unlike most flaming cocktails that merely burn, the use of sugar and cinnamon means that it will spark as brightly as any rockets.
New Year’s Eve Firework cocktail
Ingredients (for 2 cocktails)
180ml orange-mango juice
150ml pineapple juice
10ml sweetened lime juice
1 fresh lime sliced into 1/2 inch circles
Mix normal rum, lime juice, orange-mango juice, and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Fill large cocktail glass with crushed ice to top of glass. Strain cocktail mix into cocktail glasses. Lay circular lime slices on top of cocktail (crushed ice should hold it in place). Stack three sugar cubes on each lime slice. Saturate sugar with 151proof rum. Light sugar cubes on fire. Sprinkle cinnamon to spark. When finished, push lit sugar cubes in drink with spoon and mix through.
Remember to always ensure drinks have been extinguished before drinking and never leave lit drinks unattended. Heat proof glasses are a good idea.
