Next week sees the start of ‘The Grand Tour’, the brand new offering from Clarkson and his team of badly behaved bandits.
So, if you have Amazon Prime, then no doubt you will be settling in for a sofa night with some easy food and fabulous drink. So, since the boys are starting the programme in California, we have rounded up three dastardly drinks from the Golden State.
This old vine Zinfandel from the Lodi region of California is rich and chocolately and would work brilliantly with a nice chunk of Sirloin steak. Alternatively a nice pepperoni pizza would be nicely balanced with the sweetness of the wine.
If you’re tucking into a spicy takeaway in front of the T.V. then this is the drink for you. This Californian lager is light and grassy with a gentle maltiness. The lower alcohol (compared to wine) means that you can go extra hot with the food without crippling your taste buds.
Crisp and full of tropical fruits – this is the perfect accompaniment to chicken or a creamy pasta dish. The acidity will cut through nicely but the sweetness of the fruit flavours means that it’s easy drinkin for the whole night.
