Gusbourne Pinot Noir is the first English red wine to achieve a Platinum medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The wine is made from a particular plot of vines which have produced more than a passing reference to Burgundy, but the end result is very much its own character.A delicate garnet in colour, raspberry and strawberry patisserie is evident on the nose, with notes of peppermint and black pepper. Boasting a soft cherry jam fruit character on the palate, the ripe, sappy red berries are balanced by a touch of spice and woodsmoke. With well integrated tannins and fresh acidity, this versatile red wine is excellent with cold meats, cheeses, and smoked trout paté. Very limited production.
